Personality

Detailed Personality

Pansy's a bitch on the outside. Her attitude is not secret to anyone. She swears like it's her job and she pulls no punches. Confidence, close-mindedness, and attitude is the front that most people see. With her opinionated personality and no bull personality, she often finds herself alone or with enemies or rivals rather than friends. She doesn't mind either. She has her friends who accept her for all she is and more. She doesn't feel the need to be nice and polite simply because it's what society says she's supposed to be.

Inside, Pansy is a little different. All in all, Pansy is still the scared girl who screamed for people to get Harry in the Great Hall in her seventh year during the night of the final battle (a.k.a. Battle at Hogwarts) of the second war. While her reaction made her more hated than before, it was just a byproduct of how scared she truly was. Not many people get close enough to her to find out what was truly going on internally. She watched a war rage around her in her teens, found outside an outcast for what she was taught to still believe in a society that simply didn't want to tolerate her beliefs anymore (yet she was supposed to tolerate theirs). As she watched her family, friends, and lover fight in a war, she found herself more and more scared. Despite her "place" in the Syltherin house and what seemed to be a Voldemort supportive family, she wasn't spared all the abuse the Death Eater professors at Hogwarts dulled out during her seventh year either. The Carrows themselves became materials for her nightmares in more ways than one. Amycus Carrow particularly became the nightmare version of what Draco Malfoy, her lover and friend, could be one day if Draco allowed himself to be.

Even now, after the war is over and settled, Pansy is scared. Beneath her cold, bitchy, and intolerant attitude, she is just a scared little girl who is trying to find her own way in life. Her family's belief system and seemingly future in general was shattered when the war ended and 3 years after, she found herself a single mother who is struggling to raise her son, Briar. Not only is she trying to raise her son with the help of her parents, brothers, and friends, she is trying hard to not instill the same beliefs in him that she was raised with. The world scares her. She never knows what to expect and the idea of the unknown and unexpected had always terrified her.

Pansy is a bit of a control freak. She has to have a plan for everything and nearly every moment. It makes for a strong will and a quick mind which is coupled with her sometimes nasty and mature wit that she unleashes on those around her. Not known for making friends easily, Pansy cherishes those people she calls friends and family all the more for it. In the end, she'd do anything for those who she knows accept her for who she is and what she's all about. Close to both her brothers, she'd do absolutely anything for them and tends to think of her sister as a very protective older sister to her younger brother by three years, Aspen. With her sensitivity buried deep down, she's barely and rarely need known to cry or show any sad emotion, but she feels more than she shows and often her mind and emotions are a storm within her.

First Impression: She comes off a bit mean or aloof depending on who she's talking to. Deep inside, she's really just a scared little girl who uses her frigid or distant demeanor as armor to protect herself. But yes, she's a bitch and she's okay with that.
Likes: her son Briar, blood purity, money, clout, sex, her brothers (Kale and Aspen), coffee (cream and no sugar), tea (no cream or sugar), wine, whiskey, chocolate and vanilla, girls and boys, cigarettes, making fun of people she dislikes, long nights, tabloid magazines, her freedom, security, sleeping in, cheesy pop music, the colors green and black, dancing, romance novels (shh, it's a secret), secrets, ect.
Dislikes: fear, being alone, hazelnut-flavored anything, beer/ale, usually anyone who is less than pureblood, the Carrows, children (except Briar), Voldemort, being bored, writing, reading most things, nightmares, rejection/failure, being tired, hugging, the color white, cooking/baking, her parents (for the most part), ect.
Boggart: her son dead or hurt normally with one of the Carrows having clearly inflicted the pain
Mirror of Erised: Briar and her happy, healthy, and safe in a grand home with family and friends around

Detailed History:

Pansy Cornelia Parkinson was born to Alcott and Tuesday Parkinson on June 7, 1980. The couple already had a 3 year old son named Kale. Both Pansy and Kale had a happy childhood filled with love. Three years later, they welcomed a younger brother named Aspen into the Parkinson family fold. The Parkinsons are followed and supported Lord Voldemort, but no one in their family took the Dark Mark during the first war. It was safe to say that they simply wanted Voldemort's ideals - or most of them - to be the norm while they wanted to keep their hands clean during the whole process. Taking refuge in their growing, little family they simply associated with those who agreed with their pureblood and egotistical ideals. They raised all three of their childhood to belief as they do and in pureblood superiority. All three children were homeschooled before they were sent to Hogwarts with extra studying on things that would help them with magic, magical theory, and less to no focus on anything purely muggle. However, they did not want their children to be ignorant and made sure all three had enough studies and intelligence to do well in the present and in the future. When Kale was sent to Hogwarts in 1988 and Sorted into Syltherin, they were impressed through not surprised. Pansy missed her older brother terribly, but Aspen and her found ways to keep themselves entertained without their older brother as they continued their secure little life.

In 1991, Pansy herself was sent off to Hogwarts, too, and left her younger brother alone in the house for the first time. She was expectantly Sorted into Sytherin. She quickly bonded with those in her house, but the Malfoy family had always been close to the Parkinsons, so she took a special interest in Draco from their early association with each other. At Hogwarts, Pansy made no qualms of letting everyone know of her feelings on blood purity and even on other Houses. She thought Hufflepuffs were useless while Gryffindors were all just blood traitors filled with "mudbloods". Her opinions were shared by many of her house mates as well as her family. It was a small niche of a group that she fell into, but she was just fine with that. It just made her feel like she belonged more than everyone else.

She excelled at her studies. Her previous association and interest in Draco flourished more and more during the years until she finally was in love with her fellow Slytherin. While she was sure everyone noticed - including Draco - it was kept as a secret in a hushed tone at first. Years pasted by filled with Harry Potter's stories and antics that she grew increasingly tired of hearing about. During her four year was the Yule Ball in which she luckily got to go with Draco. It was a good night, but she could feel it in the air that it wasn't a "date" to Draco. They were merely escorting each other as friends. To her own surprise, she didn't even mind that since it was such a fun night where they all got to relax. At the end of the same year, to her surprise, Dumbledore announced the death of Cedric Diggory and return of the Dark Lord during the Leaving Feast. At first, while she believed the death, she didn't believe in the return until she returned home that summer and her parents confirmed it. Of course, neither Parkinson was a Death Eater officially, but their friends were and their friends were excited over the return of their Dark Lord. For some reason, despite her agreement in the beliefs, Pansy found herself terrified. Pansy also feared that Lord Voldemort would approach her family to become Death Eater's themselves. Kale was of age and would be quite a good candidate if he was trying to acquire new blood for the Death Eaters. Luckily, as far as Pansy heard, Kale never was asked or at least said no if he was and came out of the denial alive.

Her fear never went away. During her fifth year, she was made a Prefect and Umbridge was taken on as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. She was placed on the Inquisitorial Squad. The same year, she tried to make their Care of Magical Creatures professor's life as hard as possible while she taunted Ron Weasley on the Quidditch field - mostly for being a blood traitor and Harry Potter's little side kick best friend. All in all, she spent most of her energies that wasn't place on studying and keep her grades up, she spent more time taunting and angering people than she did truly socializing. She let go, at first, of her desire to date. It was a lot easier to hide her growing unease and fear by taunting those around her she didn't like than to be honest with it to anyone including herself.

During the summer between her sixth and fifth year, Pansy was startled to hear that Draco had actually received the Mark himself. Not only did he take the Dark Mark, that he was threatened if he did not kill the Headmaster Dumbledore during his school year. It was that summer and Draco and Pansy began to date, but his new association made her scared for his life. She knew that the Dark Lord would kill those who did not do his bidding or failed at goal. What if Draco, a mere sixteen year old, couldn't kill the headmaster of the school? She lived in fear while she tried to hide it from everyone around her including her brothers and Draco himself. She was proud when Professor Snape changed classes to teach the Defense Against the Dark Arts. At first, despite Draco's antics, she thought her sixth year would end without much fanfare. She was wrong. Dumbledore was killed by Snape and Snape fled.

Snape came back, however, the next year as the Headmaster with the Carrows as professors. As much as everyone acted as though all purebloods and Slytherins were left untouched by the dreadful new professors, they weren't. Early on Pansy was subjected one of their violent and unfair punishments. Yet, she was still a prefect. The new atmosphere was complete even at Hogwarts. The world was suddenly a dark, dangerous, and hateful place. She hated it yet she had to be strong and overcome - or at least hide still - her fear. Quickly she learned how to not receive the punishments and continued on with her schooling while trying to ignore what was going on around her. She informed her brother, Aspen, of just how to behave and act too and was more than relieved when she never heard he had been subjected to anything by those dreadful Carrows. She knew she'd had felt the need to step up for her brother even in her growing fear. When Harry Potter and the Death Eaters infiltrated Hogwarts, she quickly spoke up in fear in favor of turning her former classmate over, but was threatened by the students with their wands. That same fear that made her want to turn him in, made her leave and not return with some other students during the final battle. She wanted to keep her hands clean, her family and friends safe, and remain alive. In the end, she was proud of Narcissa and Draco for what they did and nearly happy that Harry had "won" finally. In her mind, she hoped that meant she got her secure life back.

Unfortunately, life is not that easy, not even for Pansy. The fear of the last three years wore on her, giving her a few nightmares here and there. She withdrew from Draco and Draco from her. It seemed like the completely nature thing to do even if they didn't have some grand break up. Every day, however, she was grateful that Draco had came out of the war alive and mostly well. She took her NEWTs at the end of the year, graduating from Hogwarts with flying colors as always. Moving on with her life, she moved in with her older brother, Kale, away from the family estate in a place in London. They had a happy little life together as siblings and roommates. Aspen returned to Hogwarts to complete his education. She got a job as a receptionist at the St. Mungo's in which she still remains. More than anything, she simply files, gets and makes coffees, answers owls and interoffice memos, scheduling, and bide her time until her day is done.

In March of 2002 at the tender age of 20, she found out she was pregnant after a one night stand with someone she knew. She was scared still at first, not knowing how she'd become a parent to anyone. Kale and her decided to stay on as roommates and found a three bedroom to give the baby a room of their own. Pansy was surprised by Kale's supportive and understand nature, but more than appreciated it since her parents were less than thrilled by her plight. On December 21, 2002, Pansy gave birth to her son Briar Parkinson. She always set out to be a good mother and completely protective of her son. She wanted to teach him what was right rather than just what she felt. The changing society told her that Briar would be better off if they tried to keep their family's ideals away from him enough that he could at least get past it when he entered Hogwarts, unlike she did. Now she's looking for a new job that would offer her more money, a more secure future with a career, and a way to provide more for her son so one day soon they could move out and have a place of their own and Kale could go on with his own life.
